'Collecting together all these 45s really does show what a consummate performer Bobby Womack was at the time, a touch he retained through to the end of the eighties, via Columbia, Arista, Beverly Glen. Bobby wrote the closing track ballad, ‘Trust In Me’ with Janis Joplin in mind and you can trust in him to deliver the goods. He has certainly done so here.' In The Basement

The most comprehensive 2CD compilation of Womack’s singles cut for Minit, Liberty and United Artists 1967-1976 currently available

After years of ill health, 2012 saw Bobby Womack enjoy a remarkable career renaissance.  Encouraged by his daughter he accepted Damon Albarn’s invitation to provide vocals on several tracks for the Gorillaz 2011 album.  This collaboration proved so popular that Albarn then produced Bobby’s first new recordings for some years.  The resulting album, The Bravest Man In The Universe, brought Bobby Womack back into the spotlight reminding all that here was one of the greatest exponents of old school soul music still at the top of his game.

Charly Records are proud to present this unique compilation which collates - for the first time on one 2CD set - every single A and B -side Womack released on the Minit, Liberty & United Artists labels between 1967 and 1976.  Filled with classics of the genre, this anthology examines one of the most talented singer / songwriters, guitarists and producers to grace the soul spectrum.  Presenting a unique look at Womack’s career, this collection is perfect for collectors and newcomers alike.  This deluxe digibook includes detailed liner notes with biography and career achievements.

His appearance on BBC TV’s Jools Holland’s Hootenanny together with a critically-acclaimed new album mean Womack’s profile has never been higher.  One of the all-time great soul vocalists and still a star today.
